About me
I am a Nature and Gardening Enthusiast. I have held several positions over the last 25 years with Darien Garden Club. As Chair of our Community Outreach and Service Projects Committee over the last several years I have created and produced several nature-related community events for all ages: Pollinator Party, Oaktober Celebration, Birding Experience Events. I also lead volunteers as we garden at several local public spaces with pollinators in mind and I am the lead at a large community garden maintained by DGC Sprouts youth club families. Prior to 2020 I was the chair for our Spring Gardening Inspiration event that highlighted environmental education in a symposium setting.
I volunteer with our local library, maintaining pollinator containers and helping with STEM youth classes in the summer. I received the first “Green Heart of Darien” in 2023 in appreciation of my “green” work throughout the community.
I also enjoy photography and following all insects and especially bumblebees around until I can get a good shot to add to iNaturalist. I have been involved in several community science projects and use iNaturalist daily during the season. I am nearing 10K observations: https://www.inaturalist.org/people/clsstreett
I'm most proud of my work with youth and hope to continue to inspire the next generations to make a difference.
