About me
I am relatively new to the Education Program Guide position at Morton Arboretum and I am eager to learn. Five years ago, I took a Naturalist Certification course (over several months) through Kane County. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and annually attend programs and perform volunteer restoration work and related services to maintain my certification and increase my knowledge. I am thrilled to have joined the Morton Arboretum Learning and Engagement area as an education guide for students of all ages and from both suburban and city neighborhoods. Now starting my second full-season with the arboretum, I strive to learn more; to connect with the programs I have taught at Morton; and to help me understand the wide variety of topics I have yet to learn and to teach as an environmental educator. I know I have a long way to go! Opportunities like this conference and other seminars, classes and courses are important and necessary so I can educate students and adults of any age to make our world a better place for today and tomorrow -- while inspiring individuals and groups to be environmental champions.
